Introduction
Dry ice blasters provide gentle and careful cleaning of vehicles, molds and machines with minimal setup and downtime. During this process, small particles made of frozen (-79 °C) carbon dioxide are metered into a stream of compressed air and accelerated. When struck by particles, the cleaning surface is greatly cooled. Due to the shrinkage of the surface and interior of the fouling (mixed at different temperatures), the embrittled fouling film ruptures, and particles penetrate into the film and inside. The cleaning action of the dry ice machine is based on the kinetic energy of the particles, the embrittlement and loosening of the dirt, and the sublimation of the particles. Dry ice pucks are soft enough to ensure a very low level of friction on the surface. The drying time is extremely short, and the cleaned machine can be used immediately. High mobility thanks to its cart principle and pneumatic tires. The compressed air flow and particle metering device are electrically controlled by a switch in the gun handle.
